MercyMe - Even If Lyrics
right now I'm losing bad
I've stood on this stage night after night
Reminding the broken it'll be alright
I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
They say it only takes a little faith
To move a mountain
But God, when You choose
To leave mountains unmovable
Give me the strength to be able to sing
It is well with my soul
(Matt 17:20 https://biblehub.com/kjvs/matthew/17.htm )
Dan + Shay - When I Pray for You
When everything around me breaks
I look up and hear him say
And when this life knocks you down
I hope you get down on your knees
Casting Crowns - Oh My Soul
You lost control
This was the one thing
You didn't see coming
And no one would blame you though
He will make a way
Let Him show you how
You can lay this down
'cause you're not alone
That someday it all works out
'cause this is the valley
You can lay it down
And my shipwrecked faith
Will never get me to shore
Can he find me here?
Can he keep me from going under?
Tenth Avenue North - I Have This Hope
Was there purpose for the pain?
Did I cry these tears in vain?
I don't want to live in fear
I want to trust that You are near
Trust Your grace can be seen
In both triumph and tragedy
But sometimes my faith feels thin
Like the night will never end
Will You catch every tear
Or will You just leave me here?
Hillsong - Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
Mandisa - Unfinished
Not scared to say it, I used to be the one
Preaching it to you, that you could overcome
I still believe it, but it ain't easy
'Cause that world I painted, where things just all work out
It started changing and I started having doubts
And it got me so down
But I picked myself back up
And I started telling me
No, my God's not done
Making me a masterpiece
He's still working on me
He started something good and I'm gonna believe it
He started something good and He's gonna complete it
His work in me ain't through
I'm just unfinished
MercyMe - I Can Only Imagine
I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by Your side
Hillary Scott & The Scott Family - Still
But sometimes I still try to take control
Cause I get scared when I can't see the end
And know that You are God
And know that You, trust that You are parting waters
Lord, You whispered my name
Oh, You answered my prayer
You're moving mountains
You're moving mountains that I don't even see
You've answered my prayer before I even speak
Natalie Grant - Clean
I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You're helping me to believe
You're restoring me piece by piece
Cause You're restoring me piece by piece
Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am clean
Lauren Daigle - Trust in You
When You don't move the mountains I'm needing You to move
When You don't part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don't give the answers as I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!
Lauren Daigle - Come Alive (Dry Bones) Lyrics
Through the eyes of men
It seems there's so much
We have lost
As we look down the road
Where all the prodigals
And one by one
The enemy has whispered lies
And led them off as slaves
But we know that You are God
Yours is the victory
We know there is more to come
That we may not yet see
So with the faith You've given us
We'll step into the valley unafraid, yeah
As we call out to dry bones
come alive, come alive
And we call out to dead hearts
Come alive, come alive
Come up out of the ashes
Let us see an army rise
We call out to dry bones come alive
(Ez 37 - Israel - https://biblehub.com/kjvs/ezekiel/37.htm)
Praise Songs Give you the Waiting Message
Way Maker - Leeland
You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working
King of Kings - Hillsong
To fulfil the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
Praise forever to the King of Kings
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
And the Church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
By His blood and in His Name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me
Learn to Love - Leeland
Pray for each other
Stand in together
We'll see his kingdom come
Shining like the sun
Something is stirring
Does Christianity come from music? Or the music from Christianity?
I think the latter. Christian life in the modern church is a trip. A trip from sunday service to sunday service. They have to make it meaningful enough to keep people coming back. How do they do that? The same way EVERY entertainer builds interest and keeps people coming back, by providing a "hook".
What is the hook? It is the un-met expectations of Christianity.
Waiting for Christ to come back.
Waiting for the Kingdom to Come.
Waiting for God to perform justice on the wicked.
Not seeing the signs from God that you read about in the gospels, but waiting.
Not feeling the power of God in your life, but "having faith."
Still dealing with sin, but trusting God.
Still struggling with physical ailments, but waiting for Rapture, coming soon... every Sunday.
Waiting for the next sermon. The next praise chorus. The next adrenaline rush. The next dose of shame and hope from the sermon.
If Christ already started His Kingdom at His resurrection, which is what the Bible says,... then what are we waiting for?!
Is Rapture Teaching to Blame?
Could it be that teaching concerning the "Rapture of the Saints" be to blame for this ever-present feeling in Christianity that something is coming that will save us from things. Things like evil on earth, our miserable lives, pain and sickness, death, our mortal bodies, etc. etc. etc.
Are we constantly waiting for a rapture to save us, instead of strapping up our boots and doing the work of Christ's Kingdom?
Are Pastors and Ministers Even Aware They Are Doing This?
I truly do not believe that many local pastors know they are perpetuating this defeatism attitude among their church body.
Is There a Name for This? Ecumenism.
Merriam-Webster says ecumenism is "of, relating to, or representing the whole of a body of churches", and "promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation."
I honestly feel that this feeling of "not yet" and "waiting" is endemic in protestant churches because of the Ecumenical movement. The movement has pushed acceptance of people into the church and the seeking of people into the church that have no knowledge or background of Christianity. This has diluted the church to the point that it must now provide the "hook" every Sunday to keep these people interested.
By "these people" I mean unskilled in the Scriptures. Either not Christian at all or so novice in it that they add nothing to the body except confusion. Why? Because all are treated as equals in the modern Church. It's funny, but that idea came straight out of Ecumenism. All are equal regardless of maturity/tenure as a Christian, classes are discussions, class leaders are facilitators, etc.
Why can't the church instead be focused on the delivery of the good that is inherent with the Christian life and the Kingdom of Christ!
